In us lies the strength to make us creators of circumstances other than creatures of circumstances. This is why Dr. Myles Monroe, an intriguing persona who made a mark as a preacher, thinker and leader came up with the seven principles of an eagle which are educative as well as motivating.
When about to lay eggs, the female and male eagle identify a high place on a cliff where no predators can reach. The male eagle is responsible for making the nest and he does so using thorns, twigs, grass and his feathers to complete the nest. This preparation teaches us to prepare for changes.
The thorns on the outside of the nest protect it from possible intruders. Both male and female eagles participate in raising the eagle family. The preparation for the family teaches us that active participation of both partners leads to success.
When the eaglets have grown they are thrown out of the nest and the soft layering is removed. They get pricked until they learn how to fly. Being pricked by the thorns tells us that sometimes being too comfortable where we are may result in our not experiencing life, not progressing, and not learning at all. There is need to grow.
Do not mix with the people who do not share the same ambition or dreams. Most of the people will want to bring you down if they have achieved nothing. It’s time to rid that friend who says that your degree will get you nowhere or that your business will not get a large market and it will fail yet all they do is sit around idling. Find your fellow achievers and journey on to success.
When it sees his prey five kilometers away, he narrows his focus it and sets out to get it. No matter the obstacles, the eagle WILL grab it. Successful people can focus on one thing while being aware of everything around them. Even after starting up a venture and the city council is always after you and friends and family discourage you and you still want to buy that Lamborghini remain focused no matter the obstacles. Do not let them move your focus. Keep going.
For success it is vital to be abreast with new changes in the market/field you are focused in by gathering new information and knowledge. The more you know the more open minded you become. Always do your research well to stay clear of outdated information. If you sell clothes for instance don’t sell trousers while everybody is wearing shorts, you will stagnate. Vultures eat dead animals and see where it got them, nowhere!
When the clouds gather, the eagles get excited. It uses the storm’s wind to lift it higher. The eagle uses the raging storm to lift him above the clouds giving the eagle an opportunity to glide above the storm and rest it wings. In the meantime; all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of trees.
In life things beyond our control are bound to happen and when they do most people are devastated but also hold the choice to either crash or come out strongly. In effect people should not run away from the storm but fight on to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.
When a female eagle meets a male and they want to mate, she flies down the earth with the male pursuing her and picks a twig and flies up the sky numerously for hours each time the male bringing the twig back to her. The art of catching a twig shows commitment and only then will she allow him to mate with her
It is important to test other people before you get into partnership or relationships with them. There always will be that person with ill intention. Be cautious
When an eagle grows old and his feathers become weak, he retires to a faraway place and plucks out every feather on his body. When his new feathers grow he comes out of his hiding place.–as human beings we need to renew ourselves to avoid failure. You just need to identify the things bringing you down, discard them and start afresh.
The eagle symbolizes courage, strength and immortality which are essential for success. Try out being an eagle.
