Business Development Manager

GFC Africa is looking for dynamic Business Development Manager to take over a mix of existing accounts and new sales territory. To excel in this role you should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.

The Business Development Manager will be in charge of analyzing and designing marketing strategies, execution of the same and will also be in charge of the sales team. This position reports to the C.E.O.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities
  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients
  • Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills
  • Provide updates on sales to Senior Management

  • Prior experience in a marketing managerial position or any other demonstrable experience is required.

Sales Executives - Various locations in Kenya

GFC Africa is looking for dynamic Sales & Marketing Executives to be part of our growing sales force for our Taxation, Financial Planning and Business Advisory services.

Sales executives are the key point of contact between our firm and our clients: answering queries, offering advice and introducing new service offerings.

Their responsibilities will include:

  • Provide day-to-day hands on sales execution, including marketing requirements
  • Develop and maintain a Sales Pipeline, including pursuing sales leads and prospective clients within our CRM
  • Build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals
  • Manage pre-sales activities through service demonstrations, advising on bid preparation, support with service pricing and realization of business plan targets
  • Deliver client presentations and proposals, and negotiate and close business deals.
  • Manage follow-up customer training and service implementation
  • reviewing sales performance
  • negotiating contracts and packages
  • aiming to achieve monthly or annual targets
  • Provide updates on sales leads to Senior Management
  • attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings

Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.

Accountant responsibilities will include internal company accounting responsibilities and end year client auditing. You will need to be a CPA-K.

Their responsibilities will include:

  • Manage all accounting transactions
  • Prepare budget forecasts
  • Publish financial statements in time
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure timely bank payments
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
  • Both internal and external audit financial transactions and documents
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations

Experience working in an accounting firm is a plus.
  • Work experience as an Accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including International Financial Reporting Standards and fair understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • Additional certification (CPA-K or ACCA)
